Terms of use

Your account

• You must be at least 13. If you're between 13 and 17, you need a parent's or guardian's permission, and they agree to these terms for you.
• Use your real name or a name you're known by, keep your email up to date, and keep your password private. An account is for one person.
• You're responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at hola@4jibaro.one if you think someone else is using it.

Plans and billing

• Libre is free. Pro and Inner Circle are monthly subscriptions, billed through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are shown in US dollars before you pay; if a tax applies, it is shown at checkout.
• Your subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel.
• You can cancel any time in “Manage billing”. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
• We don't refund partial months, except where the law requires it. We may still refund a payment at our discretion; write to hola@4jibaro.one.
• If a payment fails, Stripe tries again for a while. If it still can't be collected, your account moves to Libre.
• If we change a price, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal.

Community rules

Comunidad 4jibaro is for learning and sharing music with respect. Don't:

• harass, threaten, or insult anyone, or post hateful content;
• post spam, unrelated advertising, or misleading links;
• share other people's private information, or post things that are illegal;
• post content you don't have the right to share, like someone else's recordings or materials.

Moderation

Moderators and admins can hold or remove posts and replies, and can suspend or remove accounts that break these rules. Some spaces automatically hold posts (for example, posts with links) until a moderator reviews them.

What you post

• What you post stays yours. You let us host, show, and send it within Comunidad 4jibaro (in spaces, notifications, and emails), only to run the service.
• You can edit or delete your posts and replies. Clips you send for review are shared with the teacher who reviews them.
• Deleted content can remain in backups for a limited time.

Lessons and course materials

• Lessons, videos, sheet music, and other course materials belong to Comunidad 4jibaro or to the teachers who made them.
• They are for your personal, non-commercial learning. Don't download, copy, record, share, or resell them, and don't share your account to give others access.
• Teachers who publish on Comunidad 4jibaro confirm they have the right to share what they publish.

Live events

Event times are in Puerto Rico time and may change or be cancelled; we'll try to tell people who RSVPed. Events held on outside services (like Zoom or YouTube) are also subject to those services' terms.

Ending your account

You can stop using the site any time, and you can ask us to delete your account at hola@4jibaro.one. If you have a paid plan, cancel it in “Manage billing” too. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms; if we end a paid account for no fault of the member, we'll refund the unused part of the current month.

Disclaimers

We work hard to keep the site running and the lessons accurate, but the service is provided “as is”, without warranties. Progress on an instrument depends on practice, and results vary. Practice safely and take breaks.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or incidental losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Puerto Rico and applicable United States federal law. Before going to court, please write to us so we can try to solve it together. Any case will be heard in the courts of Puerto Rico.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new date, and tell members about significant changes by email or in the app. If you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply.
